'Eye' am the Doctor - Ncuti Gatwa prepares to have a waxwork made of him as the Fifteenth Doctor

If you're a fan of Doctor Who, you'll know that this isn't the first time the famous time-traveller has seen double.

This time, without regenerating, the new Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa, has been recreated in wax for a model that will be installed at Madame Tussauds in London.

Making a waxwork likeness of someone takes a lot of time, and Ncuti has been working with the popular tourist attraction to get his measurements and appearance as close to real life as possible. He even picked out the perfect pair of fake eyes for his waxwork!

The model will be placed in a brand new Whoniverse-themed set, alongside models of the Thirteenth Doctor, played by Jodie Whittaker, and Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor from the classic series.

The Whoniverse waxworks will be unveiled in the museum's new film and TV zone, where they'll be joined by on-screen characters from ET and James Bond

Ncuti said: "I'm very excited to be joining the iconic line-up at Madame Tussauds London. The process was amazing to witness, I can't wait to see the final result!"

Whilst Ncuti might be thrilled, other Doctors might be a bit worried about joining a set of human dummies.

In 2005, the Ninth Doctor (played by Christopher Eccleston) battled the Autons in his first episode - living plastic creatures that included shop window mannequins that came to life.

Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith also came face-to-face with human replicas in a 2011 two-part story. These were called 'Gangers', made out of a programmable matter called the 'Flesh'.
